Global Lung Health Group
In March 2019, the BTS Board agreed to establish a BTS Global Lung Health Group which, for an initial period, would include members from the Pan-African Thoracic Society (PATS).
The Group's remit included:
- assistance with the PATS journal;
- a focus on education and training
- providing advice on sessions during the PATS conference and BTS Winter Meetings
- advocacy.
In support of this work, BTS provided a series of placements for health care professionals from the UK and from Africa in 2022 and 2023.
