2024 Medical Student Award Winners

These prestigious Medical Student Awards are highly competitive and are awarded to the very best basic, translational or clinical research performed in the UK respiratory community by Medical students.

Qualifying projects can include clinical audit, quality improvement, systematic review writing or laboratory work. The prizes are awarded based on the quality and content of the research performed and the quality of the abstract submitted.

Winner

Lance Burn of Addenbrooke's Hospital, is the winner of this year's BTS Medical Student Abstract Prize for his work titled "CT features associated with contralateral recurrence of spontaneous pneumothorax."

Highly Commended

Jody Cheng of Imperial College London has been highly commended for her work on "Novel in vitro influenza mucosal vaccination model by co-culture of air liquid interface human nasal epithelium and PBMC."
