BTS Welcomes new Lay Trustees 2024

The British Thoracic Society is pleased to welcome Caroline Nokes and Lucy Davies as new Lay Trustees to the Board.

The role of a Lay Trustee is to provide public accountability and strategic oversight, ensuring that the work of the Society continues to be patient centred and well governed. They play a vital role in supporting our mission to improve respiratory health and reduce inequalities in care.

Caroline Nokes

Caroline is the founder and director of a boutique wellbeing business focused on self-care and menopause awareness. With 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, she held senior roles driving strategy, governance, and team development at national and international levels. A professional coach and wellbeing mentor, she is passionate about respiratory care, having previously project-managed the UK Respiratory Research Collaboration with BTS. Based in Sheffield, Caroline remains active in the field and is proud to rejoin BTS in a new capacity.


Lucy Davies

Lucy Davies is the Executive Director for External Affairs and Engagement at RCS England. With over 15 years of leadership experience, she excels in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and driving organisational change. Lucy is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and has extensive experience in membership engagement.
