BTS Medical Student Award 2022

These prestigious Medical Student Awards are highly competitive and are awarded to the very best basic, translational or clinical research performed in the UK respiratory community by Medical students. Qualifying projects can include clinical audit, quality improvement, systematic review writing or laboratory work. The prizes are awarded based on the quality and content of the research performed and the quality of the abstract submitted.

Anne Williamson (Winner)

Anne Williamson of Blizard Institute, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London, is the winner of this year’s BTS Medical Student Abstract Prize for her work titled “Acute and long-term impacts of COVID-19 on economic vulnerability: a population-based longitudinal study in 16,910 adults”

George Cooper (Highly Commended)

Congratulations also are in order for the highly commended researcher George Cooper of University of Edinburgh Medical School, for his research titled “Neutrophil metabolism is reprogrammed in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome.”
