NICE BTS SIGN Joint Guideline for the Diagnosis, Monitoring and Management of Chronic Asthma

NICE, BTS and SIGN are pleased to report on progress towards producing the new Joint Guideline for the Diagnosis, Monitoring and Management of Chronic Asthma, following a delay over the past few months because of the need to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Guideline has been commissioned from the National Guideline Centre. The process being followed by the three partner organisations and the National Guideline Centre has been agreed over the last 18 months.

The announcement on 3rd March 2021 of the recruitment procedures for the co-chairs and topic advisers for the new guideline is the first step in the process. Further details are available:

Please note that closing date is 28 April.
After these appointments are made, work will begin in earnest and will include a stakeholder scoping workshop later in the year. A more detailed timetable for the work will be published in due course.
