Call for Chair and members of the BTS Clinical Statement: Management of Cough in Children

The British Thoracic Society has commissioned a new BTS Clinical Statement to be produced in 2025.

BTS Clinical Statements are an important part of the Society’s range of publications.  A Clinical Statement provides a snapshot of knowledge and best practice in a topical clinical area, and includes a series of clinical practice points.

We are pleased to invite applications from individuals for the roles of Chair and of members of a group that will produce a clinical statement on the Management of Cough in Children. This document will provide much needed guidance for respiratory healthcare professionals on managing children with chronic cough.

The Chair will lead the Clinical Statement Group with support from BTS Head Office and the BTS Standards of Care Committee. Applicants for the role of Chair are required to be BTS members, with a track record of publications in the area of the Clinical Statement concerned. Joint applications from two individuals for the role of co-chairs of the Group are also accepted.

Candidates for the Chair (or co-chair) positions should submit a statement (or joint statement) outlining the reasons for wishing to chair the Clinical Statement Group and what skills and expertise they would bring. Short CVs should also be included. Applicants for the role of Chair will be invited to participate in a short online interview.

Applicants for membership of the Clinical Statement Group should also submit a statement outlining the reasons, skills and expertise they would bring to the Clinical Statement Group. A short CV from each candidate should also be included.  Applications are invited from consultant physicians, specialty trainees, nurses and other healthcare professionals.  Applicants should be BTS members.

All applications should be made via the online application form here

Deadline: 5pm Monday 4th November 2024
