This course will be entirely case based with interactive questions and will be delivered by a faculty of experts and delivered on a virtual platform.
It is aimed at newly qualified consultants, trainees and other healthcare professionals.
The principle learning objectives are:
• To be aware of the causes and pathophysiology of the most common acute and chronic occupational and environmental lung diseases.
• To understand the importance of taking a detailed history of possible environmental and occupational exposures for patients with respiratory disease.
• To be aware of how occupational and environmental lung diseases are investigated, including interpretation of lung function testing and the role of challenge testing.
• To understand the management principals in occupational and environmental lung disease, particularly the importance of early diagnosis and exposure avoidance where appropriate.
• To understand the curricular requirements for occupational and environmental lung disease, and test knowledge with interactive case based questions.
